Review: Lunch shows Sprinkle City is more than a bakery
NORTH CANTON ? Sprinkle City Bakery & Café, located at 1430 W. Maple St., is a haven for dessert enthusiasts. If you haven’t explored its lunch offerings, however, you’re in for a delightful surprise.
Recently, I stopped in for a weekday lunch with a friend. The bakery and café’s interior, awash in some bright pink hues, felt like a scene from the Barbie movie. Coincidentally, my friend Nicole arrived dressed in pink, adding to the playful ambiance.
The bakery counter, brimming with tempting treats, greets you as you enter. But before indulging in desserts, we focused on lunch. The café’s croissants are crafted in-house from scratch, guiding my choice to a bacon, lettuce, and tomato croissant ($10.95), served with chips and an unsweetened iced tea enhanced with raspberry flavor ($1.95).
Other croissant sandwiches ($10.95 each) include ham and Swiss, turkey and provolone, and a housemade chicken salad with grapes, celery, mayo and spices. A hoagie sandwich ($10.95) features turkey, ham, salami, lettuce, and tomato with an oil and vinegar dressing on housemade bread. There’s also a club wrap ($10.95) with turkey, ham, bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo.
The menu often includes a weekly soup selection, daily scratch-made pretzels and various paninis ($8.95 to $10.95 each). For fans of sandwiche-and-soup combos, any half panini paired with an 8-ounce soup of the week is available for $10.95.
Drink specials, displayed on chalkboards, included Cookies n’ Cream Latte, Birthday Cake Latte (think sprinkles), and cherry or strawberry Italian soda on the day of our visit. Hot and cold brew coffee options are also available.
Nicole opted for a strawberry lemonade ($1.95), a pretzel dog ($5.95) ? a hot dog encased in a house-made pretzel ? and pasta salad ($3.95). We settled into the cozy dining area, where several tables were occupied by patrons, some enjoying beverages and pastries in an elevated lounge area.

Our food arrived promptly. My croissant boasted a crisp exterior and a generous filling, while Nicole relished her pretzel dog and pasta salad. Everything was fresh and flavorful.

A unique feature of Sprinkle City Bakery & Café is The Pink Box ? a 24/7 vending machine stocked with cookies, cupcakes, bars, snacks and drinks, conveniently located inside the front door and restocked daily for those who can’t visit during business hours.
After our savory meals, we returned to the bakery case for dessert. I enjoyed my selection of a cappuccino ($5.20 for a 9-ounce cup) and a lemon blueberry scone ($3.90) bursting with citrus flavor and fresh blueberries. Nicole enjoyed a large s’mores cookie ($4.45).
The bakery case offered an array of cupcakes, cookies, cake pops and baby cakes ($18) ? 4-inch, three-layer cakes in various flavors. Gluten-free brownies with chocolate or peanut butter frosting are often available.
Sprinkle City Bakery & Café is an ideal lunchtime destination where you can enjoy both sweet treats and satisfying sandwiches.
