'RHOP' Star Karen Huger's New Spinoff Special Premieres Next Month On Bravo
If you've been waiting patiently for new episodes of The Real Housewives of Potomac, a new show has arrived to hold you over: The Grande Dame herself, Karen Huger, will appear in a Bravo spinoff. Yep, more East Coast drama is right around the corner, just as the Orange County and New Jersey 'wives are wrapping up their latest seasons.
Karen is hardly the first Housewife to snag her own special—Real Housewives of Atlanta favorite Kandi Burruss now stars in Kandi and The Gang, while Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip combines famous Housewives and Housewives alums for a chaotic vacation.
But Karen doesn't have a restaurant to run or a plane to catch. So, what's the hot gossip with her upcoming show? Here's absolutely everything you need to know:
Karen is returning to Surry County, Virginia, for a family reunion.
The two-episode special RHOP: Karen's Grande Dame Reunion follows Karen, her husband Ray, and their daughter Rayvin as they travel back to Karen's hometown in Surry County, Virginia, for a reunion with the Wooden family. RHOP fans will remember that last season, Karen was appointed the ambassador of Surry County—and, she has since filmed a tourism video for the town:
According to Bravo, "during the reunion featured on the special, Karen and her loved ones will uncover revelations about their family lineage, have fun bonding experiences, and unravel the fate of the family farm's succession."
The drama comes when Karen's relatives ask her for help with the family farm.
The Woodens own an 82-acre estate that has been passed down for generations. Bravo explained in a press release that Karen's ancestors, who were enslaved, fought to purchase the farm—and it's been in the family ever since.
Karen's cousins Megan and David point out that her Aunt Val is currently the head of the estate. But there are no plans for who the land will go to next. "From the first family reunion, to great escapades outdoors and discovering her family’s history, Karen navigates the complicated waters of family dynamics to find out where the future of her family’s ancestral land lies," Bravo added.
"This is a story about family. This is a story about history. This is a story about succession," Karen says in the special's trailer.
The special premieres next month.
RHOP: Karen's Grande Dame Reunion will air in two parts starting on April 17 at 8:00 p.m. EST on Bravo.
