Rider Attempts To Set A World Record On One Wheel

Riding a manual is something that most riders think of as an advanced skill in and of itself, so to see someone shoot for holding one for a sustained half mile is wild. That is exactly what one YouTuber attempted to do and you can see how that went in the video below.

The thing that makes manuals difficult is that learning to find and hold the "balance point" has a very steep learning curve. At first, it can feel like there is no way to hone in on that perfect point where you don't feel like you're going to fall off the back of your bike but you also can keep your front wheel off the ground for more than a moment.

The secret is to practice and remember to use your rear brake to drop your front wheel any time you feel like you're about to loop out off of the back of your bike. Also, I'd definitely recommend finding a grassy hill to learn on, it'll make those first few falls considerably less painful.
