Mountain biking is unique in the sense that most of the people building big jump lines are professional riders themselves. This is because knowing how a jump will work requires a specific set of expertise.

Some pretty good videos come out of it too. Watch Bernd Winkler’s edit of the jump line he built below.

In this video, Winkler puts the finishing touches on his enormous line before grabbing the bike to session it. Getting the lien to work was not without setbacks. At the beginning of the video, Bernd comes up quite short and breaks the bike’s saddle.

Once the necessary tweaks are made, the jump line flows perfectly. Located at Trail Land Miesenbach in Eastern Austria, this jump line is said to be the only one of its size in the country.

Austria now has competition with jump lines like Czechia’s Bike Park Koprovina or Germany’s Green Hill Bike Park. A visit to Miesenbach should be on any European rider’s radar.
