This Ridiculously Beautiful Resort Is the Best in Jamaica
Considered one of the top resort hotels in the Caribbean, Bermuda, and the Bahamas, Jamaica’s legendary Rockhouse resort, in the beach town of Negril, is one of the most ridiculously beautiful properties on the island.
“Everything about this place is magical,” said one traveler in Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards survey.
Others agreed.
“It is spectacular,” raved another reader. “I’ve never stayed anymore more beautiful.”
While Rockhouse has garden villas, studios, and standard rooms in a traditional hotel-style block, travelers will want to book one of the 34 thatched-roof bungalows.
These individual villas — the so-called “rock houses” — are built straight onto rocky outcroppings on a turquoise-blue cove.
They have private patios or sundecks, and a few have ladders that lead straight into the sea. Some are specifically designed to maximize their sunset views.
In 2015, Rockhouse debuted an open air, cliff-top spa pavilion, where guests can enjoy signature bath rituals with a tea ceremony while watching the Caribbean. Opt for a restorative, anti-inflammatory aromatherapy blend with spices or a detoxifying island mint treatment.
In the popular winter season, rooms at the property start at $180 a night, and the rock houses $495 a night.
