Rihanna's halftime show at the 2023 Super Bowl was a spectacle that only she could deliver. The production was an engineering feat, with the singer often suspended from a platform, and it reminded audiences of the depth of her catalog—she sang hits like "Where Have You Been," "Run This Town," and "Umbrella," among others. But the performance was also a masterclass in fashion—and diamond accessories–from the Barbadian singer.
Rihanna wore a bespoke jumpsuit designed by Jonathan Anderson, the creative designer of Loewe. On her suit? Three vintage diamond brooches from Joseph Saidian & Sons. Ariel Saidian took to Instagram to write, "The jewelry moment of the decade! The legendary #Rihanna wearing three of our vintage diamond brooches at the #Superbowl halftime show." Saidian added in a hashtag, "The Brooch is back!"
Rihanna also wore a diamond watch by Jacob & Co.—the Jacob Brilliant Skelton Northern Lights watch, which features 251 pavé-set, round-cut diamonds and 30 round-cut white diamonds.
But that wasn't the extent of the gems she sported during her performance: On her hand, she wore a ruby and diamond ring designed by Bayco. The piece, the New York-based jewelry brand shared, featured "a rare natural, unheated 19.47-carat sugarloaf cabochon Burma ruby and 5.66-carats of trillion-cut and round-brilliant colorless diamonds set in platinum and 18kt yellow gold."
Instead of heels, she opted for sneakers from the MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon collaboration. She later added an Ala?a puffer coat and gloves, designed by Pieter Mulier.
When Rihanna announced her first pregnancy, she accessorized her baby bump with a Chanel chain belt and pearl necklace and a Christian Lacroix crucifix. For her Super Bowl performance—which doubled as an announcement of baby no. 2—she chose diamonds.
It's only fitting that Rihanna closed her set, her first live performance in seven years, with her hit "Diamonds." The singer shone bright, indeed.
