Rihanna's Inclusive Lingerie Line Faces Backlash Due to Sizing

Savage was such a natural outlet for me because I enjoy lingerie. I'm a woman, I like to have fun. Women really come in so many different shapes and sizes, that it's such a beautiful thing. You want everyone to feel like they have something for them. I know what it feels like to be left out of that. Kind of typical cut. I wanted to make stuff that I felt comfortable in myself. And maybe think about things that other designer's don't think about when it comes to women's body types. The price point was very important for me because I'm the type of girl, I love To collect my lingerie. And so when you see a bra that's $300, it kind of hurts you because as much as you love it, you're thinking if that's just the bra, then I can't get the panty, and then you have to choose. And then it deters you from buying it because you want want to have both. I want to have things that women feel like they can collect, embrace, and I want women to feel like they don't have to break the bank just to have a panty, I mean, it shouldn't feel that hard.

Rihanna launched her new lingerie line Savage X Fenty with TechStyle Fashion Group last week, and while her wide-ranging collection received a lot of praise not everyone was pleased.

Despite the brand's effort to be inclusive with sizes ranging from 32A - 44DD and XS-3X, many customers were disappointed that there were only "straight sizes." Those customers who currently fall outside the range of sizes available—both below a 32A and above a DD—are feeling let down by the brand's promise of inclusivity. Many customers have taken to Twitter to air their grievances.

"I am disappointed, it says to have all sizes but impossible to find mine ... (hello @SavageXFenty )," one user wrote. The lingerie responded to the user writing, "Apologies for any inconvenience. This is only the beginning. We'll keep you updated as more styles and sizes become available. Make sure to opt-in to receive our Savage X Fenty emails."

Another user felt duped after previously seeing her size on the website. "@SavageXFenty when I signed up for your website, I was given 32DDD as an option, but now I see you don't carry my size. Really disappointed! My size is not THAT unusual. Guess I'll keep going to the UK sites and Nordstrom. #SavageXFenty #32DDD."

Savage X Fenty replied writing, "We understand how you feel. This is only the beginning. We'll keep you updated as more styles and sizes become available. Make sure to opt-in to receive our Savage X Fenty emails."

It sounds like the sizes that were initially made available are only the beginning. With more offerings becoming availalbe, hopefully these complaints won't be an issue in the future.
