Rihanna stans on a budget should copy this Fenty look ASAP
Introducing “Runway to Real Life,” a new Yahoo Lifestyle series where we will be choosing a Spring/Summer 2018 runway look and teaching you how to re-create and wear the look today — through current shoppable fashion and beauty products that will deliver you the perfect, fresh-off-the-runway look at a fraction of the price.
If you’ve been keeping up with Yahoo Lifestyle‘s “Runway to Real Life” series, you know that we’re showing you how to copy a look straight from the runway and wear it now. We’ve already shown you how to re-create a look from Kate Spade and Maki Oh. Our next and final look is from Rihanna‘s highly popular fashion line, Fenty x Puma.
Now in its fourth season, Rihanna’s strength in design continues to shine with her latest collection, which might very well be her best yet.
The Spring 2018 Fenty x Puma runway show was staged at the grand Park Avenue Armory, transforming it into an X Games-style space filled with mountains of pink sand where motocross daredevils leaped across the sand as the crowd watched in awe. Shortly after the stunt, models including Slick Woods, Mica Arganaraz, and Joan Smalls strutted across the room wearing high-contrast windbreakers, anoraks, biker shorts, scuba-made dresses, hoodies, and more, all made within a rich palette of neon pink to crimson red, sky blue and olive green. At the end, Rihanna fittingly rode on the back of a motocross bike for her finale “walk” around the whimsical mountains of pink sand. It was one of most buzzed-about nights during NYFW.
Runway: Model Mica Arganaraz wears a transparent sky blue hoodie over a Puma logo top and athletic shorts outlined with a lime green border. The look is elevated by pairing it with hot pink booties and sporty sunglasses.
Real Life: We styled fashion and beauty blogger Barbie Conga with a clear blue rain jacket from Hunter to achieve the same transparent hoodie effect as seen at Fenty x Puma. We picked up a similar statement logo hoodie from Unite to give it the same visual look from the collection. We then added a pair of navy biking shorts that you can easily grab at JCPenney or even Kohl’s, Target, or another nearby retailer. Finally, for the accessories we used a pair of sunglasses from Puma’s main eyewear line that you can snag for less than $200. We topped the look off with a pair of hot pink suede booties from Topshop.
You can easily take a style cue from Fenty x Puma without breaking the bank. You can shop our look below or use athletic apparel you already own from your closet. Add a bold colored pair of booties and sporty eyewear to transform the look into one you can wear straight from the gym to brunch or even dinner.

Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty collection made its runway debut, giving “multidimensional color unique to each girl and her skin tone.” Sephora PRO artist Karoline Karakeosian re-created the look by prepping skin with Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer and applying a thin layer of Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation. Next, she used the shade Sand from Sephora’s PRO Warm Palette across both eyelids. She followed by contouring cheekbones with Fenty Beauty Match Stix Trio in Truffle . Then she layered Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Ginger Binge/Moscow Mule and blended with a cheek-hugging highlight brush. To complete the look, Karakeosian curled lashes before adding mascara and dressed lips in Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer.
Models flaunted natural, voluminous curls as they sauntered down the runway at Fenty x Puma SS18. When trying to mimic this look, Kérastase consulting hairstylist Matt Fugate advises starting with a deep-conditioning treatment to hydrate hair overnight or first thing in the morning to enhance curls. Make sure to allow enough time for product to fully penetrate. Next, he suggests avoiding “wet-look” gels and instead opting for a beautifying oil such as Kérastase Elixir Ultime Nourishing Hair Oil or Kérastase Aura Botanica Concentré Essentiel Hair Oil Blend to enhance shine and define curls.
Pro tip: To maintain your natural curl pattern, gently press oil into hair, mimicking a patty-cake motion. Then use hands to mold hair into shape.
