Rihanna Wore a Very Confusing All-Black Athletic-Glam Outfit to Accept Shoe of the Year Award
Rihanna rocked a lot of different styles in just one outfit at the 30th Footwear News Achievement Awards, at which her Fenty Puma Creeper won Shoe of the Year. We can’t give her credit for coming up with the eclectic look on her own, however, as it was straight from the Spring 2017 Ready-to-Wear Vetements runway.
Let’s start from the bottom, since her shoes were the star last night. Of course she proudly wore her black-and-white Fenty Puma Creepers. She accented the shoes with a blingy anklet on one leg. However, a floor-length dramatic black velvet skirt kind of hid her feet, which is why she lifted up her leg and skirt on the red carpet. So on her legs alone, you have athletic-glam. From the waist up, she kind of looks like a mall cop who raided the accessories stand in the middle of a French mall. The singer’s black shirt read “Securite,” and she had a black dad cap to match it. The shirt had a banded waist with a zipper on the side. She glammed it up in long velvet gloves with “Juicy” written in sparkly letters on both.
In case her athletic-esque outfit was a little too laid-back, she added more jewels: a sparkling choker and massive emerald earrings from Chopard’s High Jewelry Collection, according to Hollywood Life.
This isn’t the first time Rihanna has worn such a multifaceted look (and it definitely won’t be the last); remember a few months ago when she wore a baggy T-shirt with her face on it over a slinky red silk slipdress?
Don’t try this at home, folks — only RiRi can pull off cozy-athleisure-glam.
