Rob Gronkowski is chiming in on Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's new relationship, and spoiler alert—he's actually not against all the additional attention it's directing toward the NFL.
The now-retired tight end—who played nine seasons with the New England Patriots before joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for his last two—recently spoke with Extra, noting that he feels the romance is “great” for Kelce’s game, and for the business of the league. “[Travis] is dominating; he’s going to have another thousand yards, most likely this year,” he predicted of the pro footballer's future performances.
In fact, the legendary athlete also relates to the fact that statistics have shown Travis plays better when Taylor attends his football games, likening the phenomenon of striving to play better during those specific times to his experience in his relationship with longtime girlfriend Camille Kostek.
“Camille was at some of my games and I told her that, you know, ‘If I score a touchdown or two touchdowns this game, then we’re going to do this, then we’re gonna go on this trip.’ And then I always end up scoring that touchdown or the two touchdowns that I told her I needed to score in order for us to go on that trip, so yes, I play better when she is in the stands,” he admitted to the outlet.
Similarly, even the Catching Kelce alum's coach, Andy Reid, offered his two cents on the matter, having nothing but nice things to say about his player's new girlfriend. As Parade previously reported, during a press conference, the 65-year-old commended the tight end's recent plays before acknowledging that the Grammy winner may really be his good luck charm.
"Kelce is getting better with time," Reid said. "Taylor can stay around all she wants."
The relationship has even gotten a nod of approval from other athletes, like former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning, who previously said of the 34-year-old flying abroad for the pop star's recent show in Argentina during an NFL bye week, "I think for him to travel, there's nothing wrong with traveling, going somewhere. Hey, if he wants to go and support his girlfriend and see her play a concert, I've got no problem with that."
And Gronkowski, Reid, and Manning are far from the only ones who have offered up comments about the pair. So far, Gigi Hadid, Hilarie Burton, Kelsea Ballerini, and recent 2023 CMA Awards co-hosts Peyton Manning and Luke Bryan are among those who've also weighed in on the highly-publicized blossoming romance over the past several weeks.
