Robert Downey Jr. Shares Rare Footage of His Kids in Birthday Montage
The 'Iron Man' actor turned 58 this week.
Robert Downey Jr. is celebrating another year around the sun!
The Avengers hero turned 58 on April 4, and he's graciously looking back on 57 with a reflective montage of footage from the last twelve months, including some rare clips of his two youngest kids, who aren't typically seen on his social media or out with him in public.
"57 you’ve been too kind with deep gratitude I shall rewind.." he wrote in the caption of the clip uploaded earlier this week, as well as in a text edit across the beginning of the video, which started with a peek at his birthday celebration, where his family sang "Happy Birthday" to him as someone carried his cake out to the table.
Next, he shared some photos from various projects this year, the text on the screen creating a poetic tale as it changed to read, "Thanks to the Nolans we are of one accord," followed by, "Thanks to Hugh Herr and the MIT Bionics Board."
Next up was a photo of his late father, captioned, "The doc about 'Sr.' surely hit close to home," followed by a glimpse at his youngest son, Exton, 11, and daughter Avri, 8, preparing to buzz the Tropic Thunder actor's hair off, with the description, "Thanks to my kids for shaving my dome."
We also got a look at a prosthetics fitting "for the project The Sympathizer," before the recap continued: "For playing multiple roles and my favorite musicians all achieving their goals (which included his eldest son's, Indio, 29, single releases from the year). For my partners at Aura building safety online. Watching Exton play baseball was a heck of a time."
"And the sweet 17 of marriage—sublime!" the text over a loving photo of him and his wife, Susan Downey, read before the clip switched back to his birthday party, where he prepared to blow out the candles. "After all these blessings I must simply say I hope I NEVER grow up one day."
Downey Jr. shares his oldest son with his ex-wife Deborah Falconer, and Exton and Avri with his wife, Susan.
