Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has made no secret of the amount of hard work that he has put into preparing for the eponymous role in DC's upcoming blockbuster Black Adam. Ever since it was announced that he had been cast as the iconic book character, Johnson has been hitting the gym to build more muscle than ever before, and upped the intensity of his training even further in the months and weeks leading up to the start of production.

The actor has shared multiple insights into the process he's been using to get superhero-ready, including detailed breakdowns of the "giant set" workouts that have helped to build his back, legs, chest, arms and shoulders, as well as his go-to nutrition staples.

And the results of all that dedicated, exhausting training are on full show in a new "late night training" photo that Johnson just shared on Instagram—particularly his jacked shoulders and enormous quads—as he gears up to film some shirtless combat footage.

"Big week for #BlackAdam shooting my 'champion' scenes with my shirt off and showing my body," Johnson wrote. "Been working extremely hard dieting, training and conditioning unlike any other role of my entire career. Manipulating water, sodium, cardio but also having to push and pull real iron to have dense, dry, detailed muscle. It's a real science that takes months and months to dial it all in with my strength & conditioning coach @daverienzi who keeps a very watchful eye, constantly fine tuning our strategy daily."
