Dwayne Johnson's eldest daughter is following in the superstar's footsteps–but she's not heading to Hollywood.

Instead, Simone Johnson has been unveiled as the newest trainee at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

The 18-year-old is hoping to become WWE’s first fourth-generation Superstar, with her father, grandfather and great-grandfather all having been wrestlers.

Her father The Rock is, of course, one of the greatest WWE Superstars of all time (even if he's now better known as Dwayne Johnson the actor) while her grandfather Rocky Johnson and great-grandfather High Chief Peter Maivia are both WWE Hall of Famers.

In an interview with WWE, Simone said: "It means the world to me. "To know that my family has such a personal connection to wrestling is really special to me and I feel grateful to have the opportunity, not only to wrestle, but to carry on that legacy."

WWE's Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events & Creative, Paul 'Triple H' Levesque added: "Simone Johnson's unbridled passion and incredible drive has earned her a coveted spot training with the elite athletes from around the world at the WWE Performance Center.

"Not only does Simone now have an opportunity to cultivate and display her passion for WWE within the Performance Center, but she'll carry on the tradition of her incredible family lineage while creating her own impact as WWE's first fourth generation Superstar."

Last month Dwayne's father and Simone's grandfather Rocky Johnson tragically passed away from a heart attack after he fell ill and developed deep vein thrombosis.

Over the weekend Dwayne shared a video on Instagram of the eulogy he delivered at his father's funeral.

Speaking about the achievements of Rocky who, alongside Tony Atlas, was part of the first African-American tag team to hold a championship in WWE, Dwayne said: "Dad, you lived a full and meaningful life,"

"You trail blazed and even harder, you changed people's harsh behaviors toward a man of color. Paving the way for me, my family and generations to come."
