Rose McGowan Calls Alyssa Milano a “Fraud” in Ugly Twitter Feud
Rose McGowan and Alyssa Milano got into a nasty Twitter feud.
Alyssa responded to a tweet Rose shared, which started a back-and-forth feud.
Not so charming anymore. Rose McGowan and Alyssa Milano got into an ugly Twitter feud on August 21. What began with Rose criticizing the Democratic party in a tweet turned into a series of back-and-forth tweets between the former Charmed costars.
“What have the Democrats done to solve ANYTHING? Help the poor? No. Help Black & brown people? No. Stop police brutality? No,” Rose tweeted. “Help single mothers? No. Help children? No. You have achieved nothing. NOTHING. Why did people vote Trump? Because of you motherf*ckers.”
Although the tweet didn’t name Alyssa, she decided to post a response in defense of the Democratic party anyway. “A thread of all the things the Democratic party has done to make the world a better place,” she wrote. “Let’s start here: 1920 19TH AMENDMENT: WOMEN’S SUFFRAGE. Under the leadership of Democratic President Woodrow Wilson, the U.S. Constitution was amended to grant women the right to vote.”
She then proceeded to add other accomplishments of the party like the New Deal, Medicare and Medicaid, and the Violence Against Women Act, among others. She used the hashtag #DemocratsHelpPeople in all of her tweets in response to Rose’s initial one.
Of course, the feud didn’t end there. Rose went on to accuse Alyssa of “stealing” the #MeToo movement from creator Tarana Burke. (It’s also worth noting that Rose became one of the most prominent voices in the movement after accusing Harvey Weinstein of rape.)
Rose continued to slam her former costar, including calling her a “f*cking fraud.”
After #AlyssaMilanoIsALie began trending, she decided to poke fun at the hashtag. “Do you think we can get #AlyssaMilanoIsALie to trend number one before I fall asleep?” she asked her followers. “Everyone saying sweet things—I see you. Thank you. Everyone saying horrible things—I see you. F--k off. Hurt people hurt people. Empowered people empower people. Loved people love people.”
Despite the fact that #AlyssaMilanoIsALie became one of the top trending hashtags on Twitter, Alyssa was also shown a lot of love on the site.
Hopefully, they’ll put this feud to rest.
