The Royal Family Is in Balmoral for Prince George's First Grouse Shoot
Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are at Balmoral Castle in Scotland with Queen Elizabeth this weekend. The trip is more than a typical royal vacation, though-it's also a milestone moment for Prince George. This trip marks the first time the young prince, who is third in line for the throne, will join his older relatives on a grouse hunt.
Yes, it sounds a little odd to us commoners to take a five-year-old boy out to hunt a large bird, but these are the royals and this is one of their traditions. So grouse hunting it is.
According to Emily Andrews, royal correspondent for The Sun, George was actually taken on his first grouse shoot on Friday. Kate reportedly took George on the shoot with the Queen, Prince Charles, Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie, as well as their children, Louise and James, Princess Anne, and Anne's daughter, Zara, and her husband Mike Tindall, joining for lunch.

As Hello! reports, the Queen visits Balmoral every summer and it's one of her favorite places to go-so it's great that George can share in some more of the royal traditions and family bonding that goes on there now.
