Royal Family of Monaco Shares Candid Photo of Twins’ First Day of School
Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella of Monaco are giving Prince George and Princess Charlotte a run for their money as the most photogenic royal duo. (No offense, Prince Louis.)
Prince Albert and Princess Charlene recently shared a rare photo of the 5-year-old twins on the palace’s official Facebook page. The candid pic was taken on their first day of school and features Princess Gabriella fixing Prince Jacques’s hair before they head inside the classroom.
In the photo, the royal twins are wearing official school uniforms. Gabriella’s outfit consists of a white button-down shirt, paired with a navy-blue skirt and a pink book bag. Jacques is wearing the same thing but with trousers and a black backpack.
The translated caption reads, “Back to school for Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella.”
The majority of the comments praised the pair’s close-knit relationship. Some congratulated them on their return to school, writing, “Happy back to school to these two beautiful children, great tenderness between brother and sister.”
Watch: Royal children through the years
Others referenced Gabriella’s protective nature, since she was born two minutes before Jacques: “They are cute, and what protective gestures Princess Gabriella always has for her brother.”
Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella are the only children of Prince Albert and his wife, Princess Charlene. Prince Jacques is first in the line of succession, despite the fact that he’s younger than his sister. (The Monegasque throne hasn’t updated its gender rules like the British royals, who amended the paradigm so people like Princess Charlotte can maintain their ranking regardless of any little brothers.)
One thing’s for sure: This back-to-school shot is totally frame-worthy.
