Yesterday, Prince Charles took to Twitter to post an old photo of him holding his son as a baby, along with a recent photo of him, Prince William, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. "A very Happy Birthday to The Duke of Cambridge!" he wrote.
Queen Elizabeth II also utilized the official royal family social media accounts to commemorate the prince's birthday. On Twitter, Buckingham Palace wrote, "Wishing The Duke of Cambridge a very Happy Birthday today! #HappyBirthdayHRH," and on Instagram, posted a story featuring a collage of photos, writing, "Wishing the Duke a very happy birthday today!"
William's birthday comes right after Father's Day, which he spent viewing the Sandringham half-marathon race at the queen's estate in Norfolk with two of his three children shared with Kate Middleton, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
The royal family commemorated Father's Day with a previous Instagram post featuring another rare photo: one of the queen and the late Prince Philip from their younger years. "To all dads everywhere, we wish you a very special Father’s Day," the caption read. "To mark #FathersDay we are sharing this photograph of The Queen with her father, King George VI, and Prince Philip watching a young Prince Charles sitting on a statue at Balmoral in 1951."
Meanwhile, the official Twitter account of Charles and Camilla featured a sweet and thoughtful message: "To all Papas everywhere, and to those who may be missing their Dads today, we are thinking of you and wishing you a special #FathersDay."
