The Royal Family Shares Well-Wishes for Lilibet’s 1st Birthday
Happy 1st birthday to Lilibet!
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s daughter turns 1 year old today, and the royal family is celebrating the milestone on social media amid the busy Platinum Jubilee weekend. The Sussexes are spending the special day privately as a family at Frogmore Cottage after arriving in the UK last Wednesday afternoon.
Queen Elizabeth shared a sweet message for her great-granddaughter on her official Twitter account this morning, reading, “Wishing Lilibet a very happy 1st birthday!”
Prince William and Duchess Kate also wished their niece well, posting on Twitter, “Wishing a very happy birthday to Lilibet, turning 1 today!”
Prince Charles shared a similar message for his granddaughter, writing, “Wishing Lilibet a very happy 1st birthday today!”
The Sussex family is visiting the UK for the first time since Harry and Meghan welcomed Lilibet “Lili” Diana last June. The Jubilee trip also marks 3-year-old Archie’s return to his home country and both of the kids’ chance to see Queen Elizabeth face-to-face, as the family’s Frogmore Cottage is a short distance from Windsor Castle. The children have reportedly video-chatted with their great-grandmother from California.
Yesterday, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan made their first official public appearance in the UK since stepping down as senior members of the royal family, attending the National Service of Thanksgiving honoring the Queen’s 70-year reign at St Paul’s Cathedral. They were also spotted watching Thursday’s Trooping the Colour parade from the Major General’s Office and photographed playfully interacting with Peter Phillips’s and Mike and Zara Tindall’s daughters.
