Royal Fans Were Convinced Meghan Markle Was in Labor on Friday
The royal baby is going to arrive any day now, and royal fans thought that day was yesterday. When an ambulance arrived near Frogmore Cottage in Windsor Castle, royal watchers thought Meghan might be in labor, per People.
So many people thought the royal baby was on the way that the South Central Ambulance Service, which operates in the counties of counties of Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Hampshire, had to release a statement to confirm that the van was a driver training ambulance. They also reminded the general public that ambulances have to serve non-royals, too.
“South Central Ambulance Service will continue to care for all patients in Windsor in the usual way,” the organization said in a statement. “It is not possible to comment on the general movement of ambulances around the Windsor area and patient confidentiality must be respected at all times. Furthermore, we do not comment on operational matters relating to members of the Royal Household.”
Though royal fans are surely looking for signs that baby Sussex is arriving, it's not likely that they will necessarily know very much. This month, Buckingham Palace announced that Meghan and Harry will keep the details, including where and when it's happening, private. It's been common knowledge for some time that Meghan is due at the end of April or beginning of May, though her actual due date is not widely known.
“The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family,” the Palace said in the statement.
In other words, Meghan and Harry will let the world know about the birth of their baby when they feel like it. But keep watching for those signs anyway.
