Royal Puppy Alert: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Adopted a Dog

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s love of animals is no secret (we mean, we still can’t get over the photos of him playing with the Irish presidents Bernese mountain dogs). And since Markle had to leave one dog back home before officially moving to London, we’re sure she’s been missing the companionship of a furry friend. (Her other dog, a beagle named Guy, made the move across the pond and even attended the royal wedding rehearsal with the queen—lucky pooch!)

So it’s only fitting that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly decided to take the next big step as a couple by adopting a dog. (Sadly, it’s not the cute puppy below. The photo is from Prince Harry’s visit to a canine training center charity back in 2010…but proves he is, in fact, a dog whisperer.)

A source has confirmed to People that the royal couple adopted a Labrador retriever earlier this summer, and that he or she has taken up residence at Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace and accompanied the duke and duchess on the couple’s country getaway in the Cotswolds.

Aren’t Labs notoriously good with families and kids? So, does that mean…? (Hey, a girl can dream.)
