Ruby Rose Proves the Power of Black Lipstick

Ruby Rose convinced audiences that she looks great in orange when she rocked a prison jumpsuit in the color during her stint on Orange is the New Black. And on Wednesday night, the Australian actress reminded fans of this fact at the People’s Choice Awards when she wore a very bright Veronica Beard pantsuit, proving orange really is the new black.

But is it? Not quite, because she countered the look with black lipstick to die for, giving the color a proper comeback.

Luckily, we know everything there is to know about the lipstick. It’s Urban Decay’s new Vice Liquid Lipstick in Blackmail, a crime her character Stella knows well. The deep wine hue is dark enough to look black from some angles, and it matched her auburn pixie haircut.

The high-end orange suit, much nice than the ones they wear on the show, was sophisticated but sexy and edgy, thanks to the blazer’s deep V neckline and lack of a shirt underneath and the ensemble’s bright color. The pants were tapered and cropped. The Aussie rounded out the look with simple pointy black pumps.

While Rose’s jacket and pants are currently availably (for about $1000), we have a feeling her lipstick, which went on sale today, will go fast.
