Rumer Willis Claps Back at Haters Over 'Mean' and 'Negative' Comments

Rumer Willis

Rumer Willis doesn't have room for negativity in her life.

The eldest daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore recently put internet haters on blast after she found herself on the receiving end of some "nasty" online hate.

It all started after Rumer—who recently became a new mom with the birth of her daughter Louetta back in April—compiled a list for The Strategist about her must-have parenting essentials. Some of the items included a $75 candle, a $370 baby carrier and $1,699 nursery chair.

Though some of the items on the list were admittedly "bougie," the 35-year-old mother wasn't expecting to see some of the hostile messages in her comments, including one post that labeled Rumer's article as a "nepo baby wish list."

"She was never an it girl nor serious about her looks and beauty. I'll pass," the same commenter added.

Another person chimed in to say, "You've definitely run out of material when you're posting about the unaccomplished daughter of an actor & actress."

"My eyes rolled straight back into my head reading this," another hater added.

The negative messages prompted Rumer to defend herself on her Instagram Story with a video that was captioned "Please don't be an a--hole."

"I was really taken aback at the level of negativity and just trolling," Rumer said in the clip, noting that she doesn't usually take the time to address hate online.

But she went on to tell her followers, "Regardless of whether you like me or not or think I’ve accomplished anything in my life or not, I’m also just a human being that has feelings."

"I'm a sensitive human being," she further stated, adding that she would "really greatly appreciate it" if users online "weren't so nasty" or "weren't so mean" to her.

Rumer also addressed her reason for sharing the items on the product list, stating that her "intention" was only to express some things that give her joy, and potentially bring joy to other people by sharing.

"Even though you can label and call me a nepo baby or whatever it is, I’m also just a person," she concluded the poignant video.

Shortly after addressing her haters, Rumer shared a family photo with boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas and their infant daughter together on Instagram Story, calling her life "a gift."

"I have never been happier and feel more in love than I ever have been," she wrote in the optimistic post. "I have the most wonderful daughter beyond my wildest dreams."

"And my story is only beginning..." she further teased.
