Developing a consistent running practice has had immeasurable impact on my lifestyle. It’s an outlet for me. In the past I’ve felt overwhelmed with anxiety and stress. Running has given me a place to expend this energy. I find that running really helps me regulate my emotions. And it can also be quite joyful. I also love that running gives back what you put in. Once I committed to it, I saw incremental growth over time. Pursuing acting, I’d give it my all in an audition and hear nothing back. It can grow frustrating to feel like that work isn’t yielding results. With running, I’ve learned to trust the process. With dedication and practice, results come. And it’s not just about the times. I’ve applied lessons I learned running to other areas of my life.

I am motivated to run because it makes me feel alive. I feel free. I feel strong. I feel energized! There are days when I’m tired and resisting the run, but I truly do almost always feel good when I’m done. And that feeling of accomplishment can carry me through the rest of the day.
It’s been cool being home during quarantine and discovering new roads. But my all time favorite spots are Central Park, and Chicago’s Lake Front Trail. Both are iconic with so much history, and the energy is palpable.
Garmin Forerunner 230! Big Brooks guy. I love all the racing swag. I feel pride wearing my NYC “Marathoner” long sleeve tee. It’s a badge of honor! I used to admire runners who wore those, and it’s cool to wear one myself.
I love to sing! I’m a musical theater performer. And I find that singing post-run is easier because I’m much more connected to my breath.
