I started running after meeting my girlfriend, now wife, Andrea in 2018. She taught me about practicalities, like selecting training plans, and encourages me to get out of bed in the morning to knock out a few miles before work. I cherish when we can run together. Previously, I let my health go a bit after my first wife’s death from cancer. After a period of mourning, I chose to live life to its fullest and I certainly feel alive when running. I love running for its cardio benefits and “mental space,” time to think about family, work, and, in general, life.

I’m a reader and I want to have unlimited access to all RW’s content so I can be a better runner.

To feel alive and free.

Depends on the weather. In the summer, I run in the mornings before the DC temperatures get too hot. In the winter, I’ll check the forecast and run when it’s least icy.

Along the roads in my neighborhood. If I have enough time, I head to the Rock Creek Park trails.

I must take care of my feet, so it’s CEP 3.0 short socks.
