Running has changed my life in every way. It connected me with my oldest and dearest friends, it provided me with a supportive and encouraging community of like-minded folks during the tough and awkward years of high school. It taught me the true value of hard work and instilled me with self-confidence, and provided me the invaluable opportunity to attend Harvard College. It has allowed me to connect with nature and develop a deep commitment to exploring this magical world of ours. Most importantly, it created a unique bond with my dad who was my high school coach and has been my lifelong fan.

I love the Runner’s World website. It is the first site I check when I get to work in the morning. The stories of elite runners achieving great things and the stories of average people finding greatness through running inspire me.

I run because I cannot imagine not running. It is my religion, my spirituality, my anti-depressant, my stress-reliever and my greatest joy. If not for running, I would spend a lot of money on therapy, medication, massage and self-help books.

I run early in the morning. I love the feeling of sitting down at my desk knowing that I have logged five to six miles before most folks have finished hitting the snooze button on their alarms. On weekdays, I am fortunate enough to be able to run along the West Side Highway in NYC while the sun rises. Weekends, I am up early exploring the trails in Pennsylvania.

I am obsessed with my purple Nathan hydration vest. I love that it has so many pockets to fit snacks, tissues, your phone and keys. It fits so comfortably that you hardly notice it is there. Clothes-wise, I am obsessed with anything made by Oiselle.

I would love to run a sub 3:30 marathon before age truly sets in.
