It’s what motivates me to train everyday. I respect the Marathon so much and know what I have to do to get ready. No matter what, I always say, “I can do this!”

I love reading RW+ because throughout the years I have always trained alone. Now, I can keep up with all the running news and special features. It relaxes me after a long day to see what’s going on in the running world.

I run after school or in the morning on most weekends—always wearing my NYC Marathon cap. My favorite run is from my home to Manor Park in Larchmont, New York, which is located on the Long Island Sound. It is exactly a 5K run. When I reach this destination, I stop to go into the wooden gazebo, and take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the sparkling water, boats, and skyline, before heading on back to real life.

Running has made me appreciate the hard work and dedication it takes to achieve something special. I taught Rai Benjamin, who just won Gold and Silver medals at the Track and Field World Championships, math for 2 years at Mount Vernon High School in Mount Vernon, New York. My running goal is to complete my 32nd consecutive NYC Marathon this November 3.
