Running and training has kept me focused and is a major stress reliever. I focus on the training and the next event I signed up for. I credit running and being in great shape to getting me through the cancer surgery and radiation treatments (the doctor made me take a month off). I’m two and a half years cancer-free.
After running in the Runner’s World Festival 5K in 2017, then running the half in 2018, and Trail Run in 2019, and feeling the energy of the RW community and staff, I couldn’t help being part of the TEAM.
I love to get outside and experience another great day. Life is worth living. Every week My Run Plan gets me lacing up and getting out there. Nothing is better than the after-run feeling!
My runs during the week are in the evening, after work and after walking my dogs. The time change is tough and a headlight is always needed. Weekend long runs are in the morning and gets the day started off right.
I have many trails to run on near me. I have a great rail to trail to run on namely the Columbia Trail and there are many Patriot’s Paths near me also. The Columbia Trail is my favorite, it is about 15 miles long and has several trail head parking spots and is flat and well maintained and you see runners, bikers, walkers and horseback riders in a very scenic area.
My can’t run without gear is my Garmin Fenix 3 and music. I love keeping track of my pace and mileage and health stats.
My goal is to keep running and stay injury-free and to run at least two half marathons per year. I race myself and look to improve my pace.
