Running has completely changed my relationship with my body. All my life I was focused on losing weight and being thin. After I started running I realized that it’s more important to be strong than thin, and to fuel your body accordingly.

I love the stories, reviews on merchandise, and the articles about better form and speed.

I started running only two years ago. I was going through a very difficult separation from a violent relationship and one day while walking I was feeling really vulnerable and weak and decided to start running. I ran only for a minute or two but felt strong! The next few weeks I started increasing my distance and speed and signed up to for the turkey trot in my town. I didn’t think about PRs or pace at that stage, but when I finished the 10K in under an hour I was amazed at what my body could do! It was then that I made the decision to get a divorce—I knew I could be strong. I now need my miles every week. I need to get out in the fresh air and see how my body can run 12K, 15K, and 10 miles!

Before the pandemic, I had to travel to NJ every month. My favorite route was by the river in Jersey City overlooking NYC. It’s so beautiful and peaceful!

I love my Hylete Iris Short-Liner. They are super comfortable, have pockets, and don’t crawl up your legs as you run. And my AfterShokz. I listen to audio books during my runs.

2020 was my injury year. I had runner’s knee on my left knee and the physical therapist said to stop running or doing any high impact training for a while, so I took up biking. That’s when I fell off my bike on the same knee and fractured my patella! I am now starting to come back from that injury.

I have signed up for the Aramco half marathon in 2022.
