Running has helped me test my fitness, strength, and endurance. It helped me realize that I can do almost anything I put my mind to. Running also makes me more focused and organized—because I include running in my life I’m more organized with my time.
I joined RW+ because I wanted to be a part of this group now that I call myself a runner. I felt I belonged here.
I run because every time I run I’m proud of myself. I become mesmerized with what my body and mind can accomplish. Never, ever in my life did I think I’d be doing this.
My favorite places to run are on new roads, new places, new states, new countries. I hate hills; I always avoid them but any new road I make it my road.
I run with my Brooks—I love to get colorful sneakers. My Brooks are my favorite thing.
I’m not the typical runner: I’m not fit, I’m not fast, I’m a very slow runner.
But I do the miles. I run 5Ks 8Ks, 10Ks, 15Ks, and half marathons. When I decided to do a Marathon, I went online and printed a training sheet and I started training for Tokyo. When I finished my training the marathon was canceled because of Covid-19.
My goal is to become a better runner, to maybe find a trainer that wants to train a slow and unusual runner. And the ultimate goal is to run the 2022 Tokyo Marathon.
