I started running when I played pitcher in college 30 years ago. I couldn’t pitch as well as the others, but I could beat them running. I continue to run to this day (I need to do better with my diet though).

I love the running coverage, the human-interest stories, and I’ve become more interested in the gear, especially shoes, as the years have gone on.

Because I need to. I’ve been an athlete all my life and I must keep moving. Running is the best way to do that.

I run around my town. I don’t have a favorite route, but I have multiple routes with different distances. I often choose a route because of the direction of the wind. I want it at my back when I run toward home.

Nike Run Club+ app. I had a little post-NYC Marathon slump in 2017, and the coaches and programs have kept me moving. Wouldn’t do it without them. That, and my Pegasus Turbo 1s. My all-time favorite model.

I’m an aspiring screenwriter, but I haven’t sold one yet.

A sub 1:40 half marathon. I’ve come close: 1:42 (and I didn’t realize how fast I was going when I set that. I just followed two people at a nice pace the whole race). Now that I’ve set that goal, it’s daunting!
