I started power walking with my dad after he had a heartache in 1992-1993 and then I decided to start running. I have loved it since I started doing it. I did a few 5Ks but would usually just run on the treadmill. Then I found how great running outside was and started getting into running half marathons and other shorter distance races. Races are the best! I am so competitive with myself so each race I try to get a PR and just work and work to make that happen.

Running keeps me grounded and sane; it my my time to think!! I am an early morning runner (sometimes biking or strength class) and I look forward to it each day. I use the Peloton app—inside and outside—and love all the different training classes they offer so I am never bored!

I love to run outside (around our house, since it is early in the morning) but in the winter, I am usually inside. I do try to get a race or two each year in another state to experience something different.

I always wear ASICS running shoes and usually wear Under Armour, Nike, or Champion for tops, shorts, and leggings.

One day I would love to do a race as a guide for a blind runner.

I am training to do a few sprint Duathlons this year and if I like them, I would eventually like to do a full Duathlon.
