I started running as a pre-teen after watching the NYC Marathon on TV. I ran all through high school and then stopped after graduating. After becoming a mother almost four years ago it became apparent I needed an outlet for myself. I am a full time attorney and part time realtor and my mind never quits, except when I run. Running frees my mind in ways I couldn’t imagine. I get peace. I can focus on just running and everything else fades away. I am just a woman running and not a mom, wife, attorney etc. Running is hard for me, like really hard. I have been fortunate that a lot comes easily to me but running never has. I love that challenge. Running keeps me strong and young. I love progressing and getting better and sometimes getting worse. But every time I start my watch I can just be me. I can just love my body for being able to run. I can enjoy peace in my mind. That love trickles down to all aspects of my life and overall changes me for the better.

I love to read and Runner’s World is the only magazine I enjoy reading cover to cover. I love the community and learning and bonding with other runners like me.

Right now my biggest motivation is running my first marathon. It’s my life long dream to run the NYC Marathon. I was set to run it in 2020 but the pandemic decided differently. I have failed at running a marathon half a dozen times. I have never successfully gotten through training. This year was the closest I had gotten with completing my first and second half. Hopefully, there will be a marathon open in 2021 to run.

My favorite place to run is in Belmont Lake State Park. The trails that run into the Southard are very desolate and I often end up running all alone. I love running alone. It is beautiful and lonely and perfect for me.

Although I love my Asics GT 2000 in rose gold, I have to say I love my Goodr sunglasses more. I have to wear sunglasses everywhere I go and my Goodrs have been the only sunglasses that absolutely do not bother me when I run.
