While Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is of course known chiefly for her sharp legal mind, the 86-year-old is also quite the fashion plate. Her ornate collars, fishnet gloves and statement earrings have achieved something of a cult following — not to mention copycat styles — but it was her feet, or more precisely the glittery heels affixed to them, that turned heads at a recent event.
On Friday, Feb. 14, Ginsburg joined Martha Stewart, Gloria Allred and others for a Washington, D.C. awards ceremony in which she presented art patron Agnes Gund with the inaugural Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Woman of Leadership Award. Ginsburg swapped her signature robe for a chic black dress jacket and matching trousers, which she boldly paired with white stockings and champagne-hued sparkling high heels sure to make Carrie Bradshaw’s mouth water.
CNN White House correspondent Kate Bennett was among those dazzled by Ginsburg’s fancy footwear. It’s unclear which brand designed the heels, though the justice is said to have a soft spot for Salvatore Ferragamo, which conveniently has this similar-looking pair. The Kate Spade Dolores Pump is another look-alike option, as is J.Crew’s sequined Bell Pump.

Some compared the heels to Dorothy’s ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz, which many commenters couldn’t resist coveting.
“Fabulous!!! Look at the justice’s shoes! Love it. Gurl has style!!” a commenter posted underneath Martha Stewart’s photo from the event, which was held at the Library of Congress.
“Look at this queen with her sparkly shoes!” read another comment.
“Swooning over those shoes!” added another admirer.
“RBG’s shoes are absolute fire,” one person wrote.
Almost makes one wonder what other fabulous footwear RBG is hiding behind the bench.
