How Ryan Seacrest Feels About the Rebranding of ‘Live’ Following His Departure
Ryan Seacrest opened up about what it's been like to see his former talk show rebranded as Live With Kelly and Mark following his departure and Mark Consuelos' take over as co-host alongside his wife, Kelly Ripa.
About a month after his last episode aired, the 48-year-old media personality returned to the set of his former ABC morning talk show as a guest, and shortly after, he spoke to reporters about his experience passing on the baton.
"It was so much fun to be back," Seacrest told ET Online. "Mark and Kelly are phenomenal, as you know. We're very, very close."
During the conversation, he revealed that seeing the show completely rebranded is still strange.
"When the commercial comes on TV, it's so strange to me," Seacrest admitted. "It's also weird when I say I'm going on Live With Kelly and Mark and drinking from my Live With Kelly and Mark mug. ... But the coffee tastes better from it!"
During his appearance on the morning talk show, Seacrest revealed that he is living back out west in the Redwoods of California, where he's no longer surrounded by the hustle and bustle of New York City. So now, without the pressure to rush to the studio bright and early, he has nothing but time in the mornings.
"There's this fascinating thing I've been experiencing called 'time,'" he said. "I don't know if you guys know about it. The alarm chimes in the morning, it's a soft nudge."
Seacrest continued, joking that his alarm goes off sometime between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. before he goes on with his day. "I walk through the forest and I look for the beans of coffee. I take them, I harvest them, I take them back, I roast them, I milk some almonds and I make a latte."
It sure sounds like he's enjoying his post-Live era!
