Ryan Seacrest’s Rep Addresses Concerns He Had a Stroke on ‘American Idol’
Ryan Seacrest caused concern among American Idol fans after exhibiting slurred speech on the show.
Ryan’s reps released a statement denying he had a stroke.
Ryan Seacrest caused some concern among fans during Sunday’s episode of American Idol, where he appeared to be slurring his words and his right eye appeared larger than his left. Apparently, some viewers were worried Ryan had suffered a stroke, and concern only grew on Monday morning, when Ryan didn’t show up for Live With Kelly and Ryan (Kelly explained that “Ryan worked late last night on American Idol, so he’s taking the morning off”).
Fans flooded Ryan’s Instagram with comments like “Are you okay?? Very concerned about your eye and speech...” and “Ryan , are you feeling okay, we are worried about your eye?”
Fortunately, Ryan appears to be just fine. And his rep released a statement saying as much to People:
“Ryan did not have any kind of stroke last night. Like many people right now, Ryan is adjusting to the new normal and finding work-home balance, with the added stress of having to put on live shows from home.”
His rep continued, “Between Live With Kelly and Ryan, American Idol, On Air With Ryan Seacrest, and the Disney Family Singalong specials, he has been juggling three-four on-air jobs over the last few weeks and he’s in need of rest. So today he took a well-deserved day off.”
Here’s to hoping Ryan feels rested up soon!
