SAG-AFTRA Talks Suspended
SAG-AFTRA’s negotiation with the AMPTP is at a bitter stalemate. After meeting recently to discuss terms, neither party could reach an agreement.
The official Twitter account of the Screen Actors’ Guild recently tweeted its dismay at the communication breakdown, writing: “It is with profound disappointment that we report the industry CEOs have walked away from the bargaining table after refusing to counter our latest offer.”
The account posted an 11-tweet thread detailing the developments, citing bully tactics, intentional misrepresentation, and a refusal to counter-offer. “The companies are using the same failed strategy they tried to inflict on the WGA – putting out misleading information in an attempt to fool our members into abandoning our solidarity and putting pressure on our negotiators,” says the account.

This news follows hot on the heels of the writers' strike officially ending. While a resolution doesn’t look likely for SAG-AFTRA, the organisation does say it “stands united and ready to negotiate today, tomorrow, and every day.”
