Earlier this week, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry released their first Christmas card as a married couple: a black and white portrait of the newlyweds with their arms wrapped around each other, gazing at a display of fireworks from their wedding reception.
Cute, right? Well, apparently not everyone was a fan of the photo. The Duchess of Sussex's half-sister Samantha Markle called out the seemingly sweet snapshot for being "incredibly rude."
On Saturday, Markle tweeted out her criticism of the couple's holiday card. "Interesting that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have their backs turned. Is this towards the world or just the Ragland and Markle family? It’s a bit sad. Face the Christmas spirit," she wrote, according to The Evening Standard.
Her opinion on the candid shot didn't stop there. "It’s incredibly rude to turn your back in a Christmas photo that is meant to share warmth and good wishes with the world. Those. that criticize me for pointing out the truth, need to get that brown stuff off their noses. I hear the worlds smallest violin playing," she continued during her social media rant.
TBH, we're not surprised that Samantha has such a strong feelings toward something as innocent as a Christmas card, with her past history of offering her two cents about Meghan and Harry's lives. However, we highly doubt the duke and duchess were trying to convey a secret message with their photo choice.
For the sake of the holidays, is it too much to ask for Samantha to keep her negative comments to herself?
