San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey's mom, Lisa MCaffrey, didn't mince words when speaking about Taylor Swift ahead of Super Bowl LVIII.
During the Feb. 2 episode of her Your Mom podcast, Lisa discussed the 49ers win against the Detroit Lions on Jan. 28—securing the 49ers a spot at the Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs on Feb. 11. She also sent a blunt message about the pop superstar in the process.
“I refuse to listen to Taylor Swift songs for the next 11 days,” she said on the podcast. “I love her, I love the relationship—but yep, we are boycotting any T-Swift songs,” she added.
Of course, was referencing Swift's high-profile romance with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. The "Cruel Summer" songstress has attended 12 Chiefs games this NFL season, eliciting a media frenzy.
"If she pops up on the radio station—and my oldest son, Max, and I are big Swifties—nope," Lisa continued. "She's dead to us this week."
During the same podcast episode, Lisa also discussed the sky-rocketing costs of Super Bowl tickets. She revealed that her family couldn't even afford a private suite for the big game.
“Long story short, they are outrageously expensive," Lisa shared. "I don’t know if it’s the Taylor Swift factor, I don’t know if it’s the first time in Vegas factor, there is just so much going on.”
Christian's girlfriend, Olivia Culpo, later surprised Lisa with a Super Bowl suite.
Hopefully, Lisa has an amazing time cheering on her son on Feb. 11. Whatever happens, at least she can resume listening to Swift's music in roughly a week!
