Fans of The View were saddened when co-host Sara Haines announced she was leaving the morning talk show to co-host the third hour of Good Morning America with Michael Strahan, called GMA DAY. Haines has been a host of The View since 2014, when she started as a guest co-host, and she was promoted to a regular in 2016.

Ahead of her departure, the ladies of The View got together for a fun girls' night out, where they celebrated Haines and Paula Faris, who is also leaving The View to focus on breaking news for ABC.

Thursday morning's episode was Haines' last day, and as E! reports, it was a tearful goodbye. Fellow co-host Whoopi Goldberg introduced a highlight reel of Haines' best moments on the show, saying, "I knew this one was meant to sit at the table since the first time she guest hosted, and we wanted to show you a couple reasons why this breakup is so hard."

Haines looked teary-eyed from the moment that Goldberg started talking, and the tears continued as the video started to play. The reel showed funnier moments like Haines dancing in front of Jennifer Lopez and announcing the sex of her baby, to heavier moments where the co-host discussed issues like postpartum depression and PTSD in veterans.

After the reel, the audience started a chant of "Sara! Sara!" and co-hosts Goldberg, Joy Behar, Meghan McCain, and Sunny Hostin all stood up to give her a standing ovation.

Haines then talked about her time on The View, saying, "It has been an honor, a privilege, and an absolute dream to work here at this show."

She also talked about how the people working behind the scenes have "become lifelong friends" and called her co-hosts "strong, empowered, opinionated women" who are "absolutely TV gold."

"For anyone who has ever played a sport knows that the best team members are the ones who lift you up and make you better," Haines ended tearfully. "You guys did that for me. I love this view, and I love all of you, so thank you so much."

GMA Day will kick off on September 10 at 1 p.m. on ABC.
