Sarah Ferguson Gave Jack Brooksbank the Most Practical Wedding Gift
Princess Eugenie looked lovely at her wedding yesterday wearing the stunning Greville Emerald Kokoshnik Tiara, and diamond and emerald drop earrings, a sparkling gift from her groom, Jack Brooksbank.
According to royal reporter Emily Nash, the mother-of-the-bride Sarah Ferguson gave her new son in law (and his brother Thomas, who served as best man) a lovely gift as well: a tie pin.
"Jack and Thomas Brooksbank are wearing tie pins - a gift from @SarahTheDuchess - featuring the white rose of York and the same pink padparadscha sapphire that features in Eugenie's engagement ring," Nash wrote on Twitter.
The thoughtful gesture certainly came in handy yesterday when the Brooksbank brothers walked to St. George's Chapel in the wind.
Here's a closer look:
Given that Jack and Eugenie dated for over seven years before getting married, the groom has had plenty time to get to know her family.
"Jack is an absolutely outstanding young man and Eugenie and he have got to know each other over a number of years, and I’m really thrilled for them," Prince Andrew said of his new son-in-law earlier this year. "I’m just completely overjoyed for them and wish them every happiness," he continued.
Eugenie's mother, Sarah Ferguson, has also spoken kindly of Jack in the past. “Jack is a really sort of amazing bringer of light and he brings joy," she said in an interview with the BBC.
Eugenie, too has gotten to know Jack's family, who were all present at yesterday's celebration.
"I think as happy as Jack is to support me and love my family, I'm just as happy to support his family," she said during an interview with the BBC that was filmed shortly after she announced her engagement. "They're really really wonderful people. And they've been so lovely this whole time."
