Sarah Jessica Parker Shared Rare Photos of Her Son James Wilkie for His Birthday
He turned 18 today.
To commemorate her son James Wilkie's 18th birthday Sarah Jessica Parker shared never-before-seen family photos on Instagram. The gallery goes back — way back — and includes several snapshots of Parker holding her son. Other snapshots in the collection include James bundled up, running through a field, and hopping off a bed.
"October 28th, 2020. My beloved son, James Wilkie, On this day, you are 18 years old. I marvel at the passing of those years but equally the young man you are becoming," she captioned the photos. "My love for you is an ache and an honor. As you leap toward and into your future, I remain your privileged and steadfast confident and joyful witness to the year ahead."
Parker also slyly noted that her son cast his very first ballot. Parker shares James with her husband, Matthew Broderick, and the duo also has a set of twins, Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta Elwell.
"Happy birthday my first time voter," SJP finished her post. "I love you so. X, Mama."

Though she keeps her family out of the headlines, Parker did mention James in a 2018 interview with People.
"Sometimes I just sit on the stairs because they’re all in the kitchen, eating all the food, and I listen," she said of James and his friends. "And I'm so charmed by their conversation. I’m so happy with the young man he's becoming."
Parker also mentioned that she is holding onto certain keepsakes for her kids and hopes that things that are meaningful to her, like her books and certain letters, hold some sentimental value to her children.
"I think, 'Oh, I hope James Wilkie finds someone special to give this to' — a necklace my husband gave [me], or my books. Or my letters from people that are special or important," she added. "I think those are the things I think more so about them receiving in some way."
