Sarah Jessica Parker Has a Very Carrie Bradshaw Moment in Dramatic Red Dress at the New York City Ballet Fall Gala
It's no secret Sarah Jessica Parker is a red carpet MVP, and on Thursday night at the New York City Ballet's 2018 Fashion Gala, she showed her prowess.
The look, a puffy-shouldered '80s-inspired (in a good way!) red gown by Giles Couture, wouldn't have been out of place on her Sex and the City character Carrie Bradshaw. Dorothy-like glittery red heels capped off the look.
Oh, and it's even better from the back: a black mesh panel and a visible black zipper toughens it all up.
As the vice chairman of the board of directors at the New York City Ballet, SJP always pulls it out when she hits the red carpet for the spring and fall galas. Earlier this year the 2018 New York City Ballet Spring Gala, Parker wore delicate, pastel blue shirt dress that complemented the floral dresses her twin daughters wore.
SJP's elaborate red ball gown wasn't the only Sex and the City moment of the night. Actor Mikhail Baryshnikov, or,you know, Aleksandr Petrovsky, the Russian artist and Carrie's (worst) boyfriend from the series, also attended the gala with his wife. Mr. Big was nowhere in sight.
