Why take a picture to remember a moment in time when you can reserve a … breath? That’s the idea behind BREATH, a Kickstarter product.

The balloon is meant to be blown up and kept, or given as a way to cherish a memory. Maybe you only see your grandparent a few times a year and want a way to hold onto that time together. Maybe you were just proposed to and want a unique way to seal that memory. Maybe you just ate at an incredible steakhouse and your breath has never been more garlicy. You can remember all of these moments with BREATH!

Forgive me, but I have many questions here. What do you do with the balloon after you blow it up? Put it on your mantle and stare at it when you need comfort? Are you supposed to suck the air back in to remember that person you miss so much? Isn’t a damn picture just so much more practical and useful? To each their own, but I’m shaking my head over here.

The eco-friendly balloon is made 100% of thermoplastic polyurethane and holds 500 milliliters of air. You can write directly on the balloon to note whose breath it contains, and the date they exhaled for posterity. The Kickstarter has a $2,000 goal. At the time of publication, it had raised $62 from five backers. So you can draw your own conclusions on how people are feeling about it.
