Scarlett Johansson has confirmed that Black Widow outfit Easter egg—and it could spell trouble for Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova.
Marvel fans previously speculated that the green-tinted jacket Yelena is seen wearing in the trailer for the long-delayed movie is the same one that Natasha Romanoff wears in Avengers: Infinity War, which is set after the events of Black Widow.
This left a worrying question: does the younger assassin pass it on willingly, or does Natasha inherit it through more tragic circumstances?

Discussing the significance of the jacket, Johansson told ComicBook of the costume: "Well it actually is an important thing. It seems very superficial, but it actually is very unique, it's a very meaningful thing.
"That's totally a Kevin Feige thing. He loves all of that backstory stuff and things that connect characters to one another. When we designed [the vest] then, it was really just a different look for the character, but it's fun how Kevin's mind works in this.
"He's like an imagineer in that way, where he thinks of all the little hidden things that people will give, things that are seemingly innocuous, some heart. It's an heirloom, it becomes an heirloom in this unexpected, funny way."

Notice how she used the word 'funny' there – are we jumping the gun a bit about Yelena's potential death, and could Natasha have taken the jacket as a way to keep her around after she leaves?
So many questions and zero answers... for now.
