What Is the Scooby-Doo Virtual Challenge? How This Fun Smartphone Game Boosts Your Health

Nothing takes you back to childhood quite like watching Shaggy, Scooby and the rest of the gang solve a mystery. Fans of the cartoon show now have an opportunity to join in on the fun with the Virtual Scooby-Doo Virtual Challenge. You can uncover clues and unmask villains simply by being active. But what exactly is this nostalgic (and popular!) game, and how can you join in? Keep scrolling to learn more about how the fun challenge helps you stay active while puzzling together a mystery.

What is the Scooby-Doo Virtual Challenge?

Coming from the company The Conqueror, the Scooby-Doo Virtual Challenge is a combination of fitness and fun, right from your smartphone. Essentially, you can walk, run or pedal your way through 50 miles of a mystery adventure with Scooby and the gang. The more distance you cover, the more clues you'll unlock on the app. Each clue reveals another secret. Eventually, your exercise progress will solve the case. You can solve the mystery solo or join a team with family and friends.

While using the app, you'll explore different Scooby-Doo hot spots on the map and collect virtual postcards along the way. When you complete the challenge, you'll earn a medal. And for big fans, it comes in a box shaped like the Mystery Machine.

The price point? One challenge costs $50. If you sign up for more than one, you'll gain extra clues and prizes to help you solve the mystery.

How to join the Scooby-Doo Virtual Challenge

You sign up and enter your email on the The Conquerer's Scooby-Doo Virtual Challenge website. Once you do that, you'll create a login and enter the "join" code that was sent to the email you registered with. After that, you download the "Conqueror Challenges" app via the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android). This is how you'll keep track of your distance and progress.

The challenge is self-paced. That means you choose the date you want to start and how many weeks you want to set as your goal to complete the challenge. From there, you can track your distance manually through the map on the app or use a Fitbit, Apple Watch, Google Fit or any other compatible workout device.

Another plus? Any type of distance workout is acceptable. If you don't enjoy walking, try jogging or cycling. You can also swim or row. For other non-distance types of exercise, the app can convert things like yoga or CrossFit into distance equivalents. Of course, as you do more, your avatar will move along the map to reach the final clue.

For many of us, pursuing fitness goals alone isn't easy. With this challenge, you can connect with others to stay motivated. Even if you're solving the case solo, you can join The Conqueror Facebook group with nearly 400,000 people who are participating in this challenge or others the site offers.

An added bonus

This challenge is good for your health, but it also gives back. For every 20% of your challenge you complete, the team at The Conquerers either plants a tree or prevents 10 plastic bottles from getting into the ocean. All you have to do is keep going — there are no extra steps you need to take. If you complete one challenge, you'll plant five trees or keep 50 bottles out of the water.
