If you’re looking for a new gig with excellent pay in a gorgeous location in Scotland, then we have the job for you. Just don’t ask what happened to the five people who held the job before you.

A new job listing, posted by a family on Childcare UK, is seeking a full-time, live-in nanny to watch over their two children, aged five and seven, at their home in a small village in the Scottish Borders.

“We have a lovely, spacious, historic property in a remote spot with spectacular views,” the listing reads. The ad additionally explains the nanny’s duties would include preparing breakfast, getting the children ready for school, dropping off and picking up from school, and assisting after school, including helping with homework and getting them ready for bed.

For this, the family is offering an annual salary of £50,000, or about $63,840, along with 28 vacation days, plus all bank holidays. Considering the average nanny salary in the area usually runs at £24,000, this position sounds like a dream. So what’s the catch? Oh yeah, the house is totally haunted and the parents want you to stay there by yourself sometimes. All alone. In the Scottish wilderness.

“We have lived in our home for nearly 10 years. We were told it was 'haunted' when we bought it, but kept our minds open and decided to buy the house regardless,” the family claims in its post. “Five nannies have left the role in the last year, each citing supernatural incidents as the reason, including strange noises, broken glass and furniture moving.” Ummm, OK.

The post goes on to explain that all the change has caused a period of “great upheaval for our children.” The parents also note that they have yet to see any of this activity for themselves. They added the apparent ghost sightings to the listing because they feel “it's important to be as up-front as possible to find the right person.”

While this ad may seem like a farce, Richard Conway, founder of Childcare.co.uk, told the Daily Mirror it is 100 percent genuine.

"When we saw the advert we were stunned,” Conway said. "Some of the guys at HQ were skeptical, but after talking to the family and their previous employees we realized it was a genuine position.”

Conway noted that the family has assured the company that “no harm” has come to any of the previous nannies, however, the new nanny “will have to have a strong disposition."
