How to Screen Record on Your iPhone

Updated

Your mom keeps asking you how to upload a photo to Instagram and no matter how many times you’ve explained it to her, she just keeps sending you selfies (at least that’s what you think they are). If only there was an easy way to show her how it’s done. Oh, but there is. Here’s how to screen record on your iPhone.

Step 1: Go to your Settings, then tap Control Center and Customize Controls.

Step 2: Scroll down and tap the green plus (+) button next to Screen Recording.

Step 3: Now, swipe up on your phone’s home screen to open the Control Center. There should be a Screen Recording button on the bottom left (it looks like two concentric circles). Hit it to record and you’re good to go, then hit the same button again to end the recording. And if you want to include sound with the video (“hi mom”), then just press the button until a menu pops up with the Microphone Audio option.

No promises that your mom will stop texting close-ups of her chin, though.
