The larger-than-usual gap between eligibility dates and the ceremony's air-date is the result of the dual writers' and actors' strikes that shut down Hollywood for a collective five months. The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards were initially scheduled to take place on Sept. 18, 2023.

The Crown Season 5 came out in November 2022, so even if the Emmys aired as planned, the period between the introduction of Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana and the night of the event itself would have been pretty vast.
