Seattle's Space Needle Is Getting a Glass-bottomed Dining Room With Dizzying Skyline Views

Seattle’s Space Needle is getting a dizzying upgrade.

The architectural icon owned by Space Needle LLC announced its plans for renovation earlier this year. While the outside of the building will remain largely unchanged, the inside of the building will be getting major technological upgrades and design modifications.

Now, Olson Kundig, the architects chosen for the project, have revealed even more details about the Space Needle’s renovation.

The latest renderings focus on the restaurant’s brand new glass floor dining experience. Approximately 500 feet above the city’s skyline, the new design not only adds to the restaurant’s ambience, but also provides a viewing platform with glass benches that extend to the edge of the deck’s glass wall.

It’s definitely not for the faint of heart.

In addition, the entire building will be preserved and modernized, adding additional doors and stairways for increased accessibility from the interior and exterior areas.

Seattle’s iconic landmark will prove to be an especially thrilling experience once the renovations are complete.
