After a successful inaugural event in 2020, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House is coming back to Dallas this fall for the second time. The Show House will even be returning to the same township, Old Preston Hollow, a historic destination just eight miles north of downtown. And we can't wait to see what this year holds.

The 2021 Kips Bay Dallas Decorator Show House will open to the public for one month beginning Friday, September 24, at 5138 Deloache Avenue in the exclusive Sunnybrook Estates neighborhood. The classic Georgian estate is seated on nearly one-and-a-half acres and boasts more than 11,000 square feet of living space, serving as a fantastic canvas for the country's top design talent. And with incredible amenities like two full kitchens, multiple living spaces, a wine cellar, and theater, this home is sure to offer exciting creative challenges for participants.

This year's Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas Chairs include Jan Showers, Jean Liu, Chad Dorsey and VERANDA's own Steele Thomas Marcoux, as well as Vice Chairs Trish Sheats and Laura Lee Falconer. Showers, Dorsey, and Sheats all participated in the inaugural Dallas event, and we are excited to see the entire team's selections of 2021 talent.

In light of Covid-19, the Show House's organizers will ensure proper precautions to protect the participating designers, staff, and guests. Health screenings will be conducted for all staff prior to the event, and there will be increased cleaning and sanitation throughout the home. The Show House will also be limiting the number of guests who can tour the home at once and will offer tickets for specific time periods to ensure city and state guidelines are met.

For the last 50 years, the main goal of the Kips Bay Decorator Show Houses has been to support the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, and designers have helped raise more than $25 million for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club of New York in that time. This Dallas event will also benefit Dwell with Dignity, a local nonprofit agency dedicated to creating peaceful and inviting homes for those suffering from poverty and homelessness as well as The Crystal Charity Ball, another Dallas-based organization whose mission is to aid, support and make contributions to children's charities in Dallas County.
